In recent years, work to improve access to Sandal Castle, Wakefield, had fallen into disrepair and the wooden steps and platforms had become too unsafe for public use. When the visitor centre was taken over as a cafe, the site seemed to improve again and Wakefield Council allowed work to be carried out to halt erosion of the last remaining structures. Both a door frame and window frame would be created using new stone. Here, JMJ has created a window frame in the left-hand structure and filled the moat.
