At the corner of Bellevale Road and Lee Park Avenue, Gateacre, Liverpool, stands a strange wall-like structure with chevron tiles and a plinth beside two circular flower beds. At the time of painting, JMJ was unaware that the structure was erected in 1959 as the 'gateway' to the newly built Lee Park estate. Between the wall panels were seats and, from the central circle was erected a tall flag post with arrow darts at its apex. A similar space, towards the rear of the estate, was erected as a split level play area. However, being built entirely in concrete, it was removed soon after and later replaced with houses.
