When Dorothy Gale lands in Munchkin Land, Glinda (the good witch of the north) sends Dorothy off along the yellow brick road to the Emerald city. However, when Glinda floats away in her bubble, she heads off in the direction of the red brick road. Researching where Glinda lives, JMJ discovered she lives in the Sapphire city. The backdrop, from the MGM film set, inspired the landscape for this painting.
